Through the creative use of music and the arts, boys from all walks of life are brought together in the pursuit of excellence on both an individual basis and through group study.
Over the years Houston Boychoir has developed musicianship, discipline, confidence, and a loving understanding of art. It is through this understanding that the choristers grow to accept and appreciate each other; thereby bridging the gap of cultural and socio-economic diversity and producing artistic achievement of the highest standards.
We hope to see you . . .
The Houston Boychoir provides boys in the Houston Metropolitan area with the opportunity for vocal music study and choral performance. Founded in 1962 as The Singing Boys of Houston, HBC has a long tradition teaching musical excellence, self discipline and teamwork. The choir concertizes throughout the city for corporations and national conventions while doing seasonal performances at the the University of Houston. The Boychoir has toured the United States, Europe and the Orient extensively, giving boys the opportunity to broaden their horizons. Locally, the Boychoir has appeared in productions with Houston Grand Opera and most recently with the Houston Symphony.
In the Fall of 1999 The Houston Boychoir joined the Moores School of Music Preparatory Program. The Boychoir consists of three choirs: Preparatory Choir, Concert Choir, and Chamber Choir.
