Dues are due!!

It’s time to pay the $10 annual Chorus dues.  Dues payments help out with such expenses as nametags and other office supplies for the chorus, refreshments for special events, and years of service pins.   New members should also pay their one time music deposit ($15).  If paying by check, make check payable to the Houston Symphony Chorus.  Checks should be given to your section leader, or if s/he is absent, you may give them directly to treasurer Lynne Moneypenny (making sure to also give her your name, so she can keep track of who has paid!).   Congratulations to the Soprano One section: all but two section members had paid their dues as of last week (including some who mailed them in because they weren’t even singing the Mahler).  Way to go divas!!  I’m still waiting to hear whether any of the other sections have matched this record…

MAHLER ITSs WILL BE HELD NOV. 9, before rehearsal and during the second half of rehearsal.  Please sign up for appointments tonight!! If you know you will miss that rehearsal, please contact Susan S. and make arrangements to do this some other time.  As per the Chorus Handbook, all provisional members, and those who missed 3 or more rehearsals for the Mahler, will be required to sing an ITS before being allowed to sing the concert series.  If you can’t remember how many rehearsals you have missed, check the list in the hall to see whether you need to sing an ITS.

Christmas CDs are here!!

“Glad Tidings”, the CD we recorded in August, will be officially released this weekend.  Sneak previews suggest that this is a real winner – even better than last year’s!  As was the case last year, everyone who performed on the CD will receive one complimentary copy.  EVERYONE in the chorus may buy up to 15 CDs at the Artists’ Rate of $10 each.  Distribution dates are as follows:

Nov. 18: Sales to Chorus (before rehearsal and during the break of the Mahler Orch.
