Special News about This Week’s Orchestra
Rehearsals
Thursday orchestra rehearsal: We will be rehearsing in full
concert dress (evening outfits): in other words, come in your tuxes and long
black dresses, with jewelry, bow ties, etc. This is being done so that the Chorus
can be part of a publicity photoshoot for the Symphony (orchestra musicians will
be in full concert dress as well).
In past years we have had to come early or stay late after a concert in
order to do these publicity shots, so this is a comparatively easy way to do
this. Thanks to everyone for doing
this!!
Friday orchestra rehearsal: “Das klagende Lied” is on the
first half of the rehearsal. The
second half of the rehearsal will be of the pieces which are on the first half
of this weekend’s program: Schubert’s “Unfinished” Symphony, and a short Mahler
piece (yes, short -- a mere 8 minutes!).
Singers are welcome to sit in the audience for the second half of the
Friday rehearsal. If you want to do
this, please be seated by the start of the rehearsal and try to make as little
noise as possible while in the auditorium.
Miscellaneous: If you still need to buy a black folder for
the concert, see Tony Sessions. If
you need a chorus tie or chorus jewelry, see Patsy Wilson. And if you have any questions about what
to wear, where to park, or anything else, please ask your section leader: we
were all new in the chorus once!!

Please pick up and complete a Mexico City availability form
TONIGHT!! Charles must decide this
week whether we will have enough singers to commit to this
project.
