Comp. ticket sign up Tonight and Next Week for the February concert.   If you want to purchase discount tickets alongside your single comp ticket, do not sign the list!  Instead, call the Jones Hall box office and identify yourself as a singer in this concert: 713- 224-7575.

Classical Knockouts ITS will be conducted in the rehearsal on Feb. 15.  As usual, all provisional and Grand Chorus members will need to sing an ITS, as will anyone who misses 20% or more of the rehearsals.  Because we only have 6 rehearsals for this program, that means you will need to sing an ITS if you miss TWO or more rehearsals!!  The only exception is for new members who auditioned in January and missed the first rehearsal.  The list of those needing to sing an ITS will be posted next week.

You are cordially invited to be the guest of the Houston Symphony at this weekend’s Brassy Gabrielli concerts, Maestro Claus Peter Flor conducting!!  This concert should be a real treat.  When Maestro Flor presented a similar Gabrielli concert in Dallas, it was a big hit.  Chorus members are eligible to sign up for a pair of tickets to one of the concerts (Saturday, Sunday matinee, Monday).  (And yes, the Sunday matinee finishes before the Superbowl starts!!)  There are sign up sheets in the hall tonight, or you can reserve your tickets by calling the box office and identifying yourself as a chorus member (they have a current list).  (713-224-7575, 10 a.m – 6 pm Monday-Friday).   Tickets will be left at will-call under your name on the day of the performance.  Katia Baizan (soprano) is happy to answer any questions tonight!  (And thanks to her for helping to set this up!)

Classical Knockouts Performance** Order

Orff  O Fortuna

Verdi Aida excerpts

Sibelius Finlandia

Bernstein Make our Garden Grow (in performance this is preceded by the Candide overture)

Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture

**orchestra rehearsal order will differ slightly

The Chorus sings ONLY on the second half of this concert.  Call times will reflect this.

Thanks in advance for getting your music into folders ahead of the concert!  It will save a lot of rehearsal time and aggravation if people aren’t shuffling through music every time we switch pieces!

Do you need to borrow a dress for our February concert?  If so, and if you have already contacted Patsy Wilson about this, she has a dress for you tonight.  Please give her the $10 loan fee at this time (this covers dry cleaning and the cost of replacing lost collars and cuffs, etc.)  If you need a dress but have NOT yet contacted our Patsy please look for her tonight at the break (or, if you don’t see her then, call her at 281-263-6540)
