Re-Audition Sign Up Starts TONIGHT!!!

A list of singers and audition years is posted in the hallway.  Please sign up for an appointment if you are listed as a “5” (as in, 2005).  Because the Nevsky music is rented and scores will be turned in before the re-auditions, ALL singers will re-audition from music for the CD.  The exact cuts will be given next week.  Those who aren’t singing the CD will be given a re-audition packet with the relevant music, and you may rehearse the music with us at the start of the second half of next week’s rehearsal, and at the end of the rehearsal on May 17.   May 17 is also our “year’s of service” year end party, so we are hoping many non-CD singers will show up for the end of this rehearsal. Those who haven’t sung Messiah but would like to audition for this will be asked to sing excerpts from this: those cuts will be given next week as well. 

Nevksy ITS:  If you have missed two or more rehearsals for Alexander Nevksy, you will need to sing an ITS before the rehearsal on April 26.  A sign up sheet is posted in the hall TONIGHT.  Please sign up!!

YEARS OF SERVICE

Years of service credit has been calculated for this season, and the results are posted in the hallway.  PLEASE CHECK THESE LISTS!!   In 1990 an committee of distinguished members developed the rules for awarding years of service credits: they wrote a full page memo on this.  The gist of it is that to receive credit for a fall or spring “semester”,  “members must maintain a minimum of 80% of attendance at rehearsals and concerts to which they are assigned”.  Summer concerts series may be used as make-ups.  In this case, both Lord of the Rings and the Glad Tidings recording were counted for make-up credit towards Fall 2004 and Spring 2005. 

Chorus Endowment Campaign Continues Tonight

Donation envelopes and more brochures are available on the Chorus table.   Thanks to everyone for the good kick-off last week!

Folders

Please see librarian Tony Sessions if you need to purchase a black folder for this concert.   We don’t absolutely require people to have identical folders, but since the chorus is generally “on screen” now, we strongly urge everyone to use folders with the similar “leather” finish.  

Wardrobe News

Chorus ties for sale this week and next week from Wardrobe manager Patsy Wilson (Alto 1).  Ties cost $25 each (cash or check to HSC).  Men wear the ties on Sunday afternoon concerts along with a dark suit.
