Lord of the Rings

Solo Auditions (mezzo and baritone)

To be held after rehearsal on Thursday, June 23. Those wishing to audition may check out a score from Tony.

Tickets Like lst year, there will be no comp. tickets for the Lord of the Rings concerts: the Symphony needs to maximize revenues on these very popular concerts. However, all who are singing in the concert may purchase tickets at a 20% discount by calling the box office and identifying yourself as a Chorus member. They have a list of those who said they are available to sing in the concert. Last year one of these concerts sold out, and the other was a near sell out, so buy tickets early! Slides You asked, we listened! We are trying to arrange for singers to view some of the slides that will be projected during this concert. We've got to coordinate this with touring projectionists, but we expect this to work out.

Concert Ticket Pre Sales Ends Thursday!!

Each of you should have received 4 tickets for pre-sale. We hope you will make every effort to sell them to ensure the success of this concert!! Return all ticket revenues and/or unsold tickets to your section leader no later than the Gloria Dei dress rehearsal, June 9.

If you need more than 4 tickets (way to go!!), please see Mary Lopushansky (alto 1), who will be at the front of the rehearsal room at the break.

Party! Party! Party! The after concert party will be at Villa Capri located right on Clear Lake. A free glass of wine is offered with the purchase of an entree. Entrees start at $9.95. Please sign up on the sheet in the hall. Vouchers for the wine and directions will be distributed at Thursday's rehearsal. Thanks to Lois Howell for arranging this!

Directions to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church

18220 Upper Bay Road, Nassau Bay

Directions from Houston: Take I 45 south to Nasa Rd 1. Go east on Nasa Rd 1 about 3 miles. Turn right at the stop light at Upper Bay Road (look for the Shell Station across from the second entrance to the Johnson Space Center). Gloria Dei will be on your right at the second stop sign. There is plenty of parking behind the church.

Alternate Directions from Houston (if traffic is very bad): Take I 45 South. Exit Bay Area Blvd and cloverleaf around so you're going east on Bay Area Blvd. Travel on Bay Area to Saturn (probably close to 3 miles) Turn right on Saturn. Travel on Saturn until you dead end at Nasa 1. Then as above.

Directions from Galveston: Take I 45 North to Nasa Rd 1, then as above.
