Please help us update our contact information for former members! Directories are available at the Chorus table if you want to look them over. Even if all you can tell us is that we have the wrong address for someone, that will save us some wasted postage. We will use these lists to contact alumni about special events in conjunction with the 60th season, so we'd like these to be as accurate as possible!
2006 Endowment Drive Continues Tonight!
Big or small, all contributions make a difference! Last year we had record participation levels - let's beat this record once again! Brochures and donation envelopes are available tonight. Envelopes can be handed in at rehearsals to Susan, or mailed in any time until May 16 for credit towards this year's campaign. Donations are tax deductible (make checks payable to the Houston Symphony). All contributors who wish to be recognized will be acknowledged in an insert in the first choral concert of the 2007 Season.
Re Audition Sign Up Starts Tonight
Re auditions will be held May 18 and May 20. Those needing to reaudition include members who have not reauditioned for two years, those on a one year rotation, provisional members, and Grand Chorus members. Lists are posted in the hallway if you need to check. Auditions will be held in quartets singing the following excerpts from the Verdi Requiem:
No. 1 Requiem
Meas. 28 - 55 (Te decet hymnus)
No. 2 Dies Irae
Meas. 573 - 612 (Dies irae reprise)
No. 7 Libera me
Meas. 132 - 155 (Requiem aeternam dona eis Domine)
Copies of these excerpts will be available next week for those who don't have the music. Please learn this music even if you didn't sing the Requiem in February.
Check Years of Service Lists
These are posted in the hallway along with the rules for assigning credit (based on singing 20% of rehearsals and concerts per semester, with summer concerts used for "make up credit"). Please write a Note to Susan if you have questions about your credit or want her to double check the records.
