(from Charles Hausmann)
Dear Colleagues,
I hope that you all have been enjoying the summer! I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you about our July concert, and to give you a heads up about the schedule for our first performance of the classical season, which will be here sooner than we all expect.
1. Rehearsals start next week for Video Games Live! If you signed up for this on the annual commitment form, you should have received e-mail notification about this already. This has been a very successful concert at various venues around the country with an audience following similar to Lord of the Rings. It should be a very unique concert experience! In addition, after next Tuesday's rehearsal we are looking for some help stuffing envelopes for our Alumni Mailing which announces the 60th Anniversary Season and our European Tour. I hope some will be able to stay a little later to do this.
2. Please mark your calendar!! Below is the rehearsal schedule for Adams/Beethoven which includes some extra rehearsals that will be needed. Also, please note the concert week schedule is a little different than usual, because this is one of the Symphony's Thursday, Saturday, Sunday concerts. (In case you weren't aware, half of the regular concert weeks are now on this schedule.) In addition, let me give you advance notice that, as in years past, we will be performing the Beethoven 9th Symphony from memory!!
Other performance and rehearsal dates for the season will be posted on the chorus web page soon, and will be distributed in the Chorus Handbook in August.
