Chorus Council Report

Dear Symphony Chorus members,

I'd like to give you an update of some of the business that was addressed at the recent Chorus Council meeting.

The popular discount parking voucher program will continue, headed up by Jonathan Vaughan. The vouchers will sell for $3, cash only, for sale at two rehearsals before we head downtown during concert week.

We are hoping to develop a new and improved website with classy features. We may be hiring a web designer. If you have skills in this area you would be willing to share, we'd love to know that. Or, if you know of a web designer that might be willing to donate services for free or a reduced cost, please also let us know!

We would like to have more continuing contact with our many chorus alumni, especially those living in the Houston area, to keep them informed of our upcoming concerts. We recently updated our database and have current email addresses for many alumni. We are looking for a couple volunteers to work on writing and e-mailing the newsletter several times a year. If you are interested in taking on this task, please let Susan know.

We are looking ahead to special events to celebrate our 60th anniversary year. Look for a special remembrance on October 24th and to events in February and April.

Thanks to all of you for the time and travel expense and voice and spirit you provide to make a wonderful musical experience for us all to share!
