MEXICO CITY INFORMATION

Plane tickets will be handed out at rehearsal on Tuesday, Aug. 22. Tickets will not be handed out at the airport! It is VERY IMPORTANT that you attend rehearsal next Tuesday.

Just so you know, concerts are scheduled Friday evening at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, Saturday evening at Sala Nezahualcoyotl, and Sunday noon at Sala Nezahualcoyotl. The rehearsal schedule is not finalized, but there is definitely one rehearsal on Thursday from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m.

If you are bringing a guest, they will need to pay in cash $346.50 for the plane fare, and $55 per night for the hotel. These payments will be made in Mexico City in American dollars or Mexican pesos. (No credit cards will be accepted - Eduardo is working on personal checks, but don’t count on that.)

Again, it is critical that Mexico City participants attend rehearsal next Tuesday, Aug. 22, in order to receive airline tickets!!

ENGLAND PICTURE PARTY

England participants are invited to share their pictures and videos at the home of Charles and Cathy Hausmann this Friday, August 18, at 7:30 p.m. (Directions are on the table in the hall.) Bring your memorabilia and a snack to share - drinks will be provided.

NEW MEMBER AUDITIONS

New Member Auditions will take place this Saturday, Aug. 19, and Saturday, Sept. 9. If you know someone who is interested in becoming a chorus member, have him or her contact Cheryl at 281-980-9842, or chorus @ flash.net .

DRESS RESEARCH COMMITTEE

No need to panic, ladies! We are not making any plans to change our dresses. However, the contract with our current dressmaker expires next fall, and we would like to research our options if we choose not to extend our contract. If you would be interested in serving on this committee, see Judy Hill tonight or next week.

SUBSCRIPTION SALES

Information on special symphony chorus subscription packages is available in the hall. These subscription represent a 40% discount (verses the 20% which you receive concert by concert) and will provide money to our new tour fund, which will help us get a head start on future tour fund-raising. See Cheryl if you have questions - and return your forms to Cheryl as well!

RECOMMENDED RECORDINGS

Charles has put together a Recommended Recordings List for the 2000-2001 season. If you are about to purchase a CD to prepare for an upcoming concert, consider his suggestions before you buy. The lists are on the table in the hall.

CHORUS PUB & PIC PARTY

Share your Mexico City pictures (and England, too) when the entire chorus gathers at the Black Lab, on Friday, Sept. 8. Flyers are in the hall!
