New men in the chorus will need to buy regulation ties for the Sunday afternoon concert. The ties are $22, and can be purchased from Lee Williams.
Copies of Ianís England Tour video are available tonight. The video includes about 4 hours of tour coverage, including all concerts, rehearsals, and other tour bits. The price of this video is $3, which covers the cost of two, 2-hour tapes. If you have questions, see Michael Read.

When you arrive downtown, you will need to enter Jones Hall through the stage door on Texas Avenue, and sign in at the security guardís desk. The door to your right will lead you backstage. The door (and elevator) to your left will lead you downstairs to the rehearsal room. The security guard can help you if you are not sure where to go.
Ladiesí and menís dressing rooms are on the Chorus Level, which you can reach by elevator. You may leave personal items in these rooms during concerts, but use the lock-box backstage during concerts for valuables. (Please, do not bring large bags to put in the lock-box.)
The Handbook has an important section on Concert Behavior. You will want to review this before Saturday.
Please, do not wear scents of any kind, perfume or cologne. Watch out for fragrant hairsprays, too.
Please make sure pagers and watches are turned off before going on stage, for performances and rehearsals. (No phones on stage, please.)
Once on stage, should your row be short a chair or have an extra chair, please get someoneís attention so that the problem can be taken care of. We do not perform with empty chairs on stage, and no one should sit on the risers without a chair!
Ladies, any barrettes, combs, ponytail holders, etc., should be plain black or tortoise, and non-reflective, and should not be visible from the front.
Water containers with lids are allowed on stage during rehearsals only.
COUNCIL MEMBERS ON CALL!
If you have questions or problems to discuss with Cheryl tonight, or any
night this week, please try to do so prior to the rehearsal/concert or
at the break. There will be a council member standing by, following the
rehearsals/concerts this week should you have questions or problems that
need to be addressed following the second half. Your council members
are standing by as follows:
Tonight: Rodney Arndt
Wednesday: Randy Boatright
Thursday: Lee Williams
Friday: Catherine Howard
Sat. a.m.: Mary Lopushansky Sat. p.m.: Judy Hill Sunday: Kirsten Jordon
Monday: Bill & Jill (Cowan & Schaar)
These wonderful individuals will pass along any questions or problems that need to be dealt with before the next nightís rehearsal/concert.
WHILE CHERYL IS OUT...
Cheryl will be on maternity leave from Sept. 26, until Oct. 25. If you have questions or problems during this time, please contact your section leader, whose information you will find below (and in the roster).
Both Messiah and Pops concert rehearsals will NOT begin on October 10, as listed in the calendar. They will instead begin on Tuesday, October 17. There are no rehearsals Sept. 26, Oct. 3, and Oct. 10. December Concert assignments are in the hall.
Our own Charles Hausmann has been named one of Houstonís Best Dressed Men by the Sickle Cell Association of Houston, and will be honored at a brunch and style show on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 11:00 a.m., at Foleyís downtown.
