JONES HALL DETAILS
When you arrive downtown, you will need to enter Jones Hall through the stage door on Texas Avenue, and sign in at the security guard’s desk. The door to your right will lead you backstage. The door (and elevator) to your left will lead you downstairs to the rehearsal room. The security guard can help you if you are not sure where to go.
Ladies’ and men’s dressing rooms are on the Chorus Level, which you can reach by elevator. You may leave personal items in these rooms during concerts, but use the lock-box backstage for valuables.
The Handbook/Calendar has an important section on Concert Behavior. You will want to review this before Saturday.
Please, do not wear scents of any kind, perfume or cologne. Watch out for fragrant hairsprays, too.
Please make sure pagers and watches are turned off before going on stage, for performances and rehearsals. (No phones on stage, please.)
Once on stage, should your row be short a chair or have an extra chair, please get someone’s attention so that the problem can be taken care of. We do not perform with empty chairs on stage, and no one should sit on the risers without a chair!
Ladies, any barrettes, combs, ponytail holders, etc., should be plain black or tortoise, and non-reflective, and should not be visible from the front.
Water containers with lids are allowed on stage during rehearsals only.
If an emergency should arise, and you are unable to attend a concert at the last moment, please call the chorus line, 281-980-9842 (up to 2 hours prior to concert), or the rehearsal room pay phone, 713-226-9295 (within an hour of the concert).
CARMINA BURANA RECORDINGS
Many of you have heard about recordings of the Carmina Burana concerts
from last year being made available to Houston Symphony subscribers.
More details are coming soon, but know that if you participated in that
concert, you will have access to this recording. Watch your Chorus
Notes for further information!
