Welcome Back!!
GALVESTON WORKSHOP,
SATURDAY, AUGUST 25
Over 70 chorus members have registered to attend our August 25 workshop in Galveston, most of whom will be included in our grand prize drawing - the winner will not have to re-audition next spring!! If you have not yet signed up, the price is now $20, although you can take advantage of a great deal seen in the next column.
Jonathan Vaughan (what would we do without him?) has forms and loads of information for you, and he can answer most any question you have. Other members of the workshop committee are Anne Campbell, Kirsten Jordon, Judy Hill, Kristin Phillips, and Steve Abercia - thank you!!
Join us for a truly enriching experience!

AN IMPORTANT WORD
ABOUT SCORES...
If you have a Borodin score from the past that you were planning to use, please check out or purchase a new one instead. We are using a different edition for this concert series. Borodin scores are $6, and Barber scores are $9 - checks should be made payable to the Houston Symphony Chorus.
As you know, the chorus library was almost completely destroyed in the floods from tropical storm Allison. Many have expressed an interest in buying a score for themselves and buying one to rebuild our library. This is a wonderful idea and greatly appreciated by all. Please indicate you are doing so on the memo line of your check, if this is a donation you would like to make.
DO YOU NEED A CHORUS DRESS?
Ladies who need to purchase a chorus dress need to be at rehearsal next week. Cheryl will make an important announcement about this prior to the break - please listen carefully.
Still holding on to that
score we used last season?
It is more important than ever
that you return it to Tony,
as soon as possible!
Thanks.
NEW MEMBER AUDITIONS
New Member Auditions will take place this Saturday, August 18, and there are just a few spots left! If you know someone who is interested in singing with us, have him or her contact Cheryl Whinney at 281-980-9842, or chorus @ flash.net .
