FUND-RAISING THANKS!

Last week, Andy Kesten, T2, was inadvertently left off the “thank you” list of Kemah singers. Thank you, Andy!

(In case you want to say thanks again, the following chorus members sang at Kemah to raise money for our tour fund: Lisa Trewin, Suzanne Mitchell, Vickie Davis, June Russell, Mary Nepveux, Cecil Lanier, Scott Mermelstein, Beverly Mintz, Laurie Reynolds, Joyce Lewis, Bob Browning, Roger Cutler, Matt Henderson, Debby Grueser, Melissa Hale, Christine Economides, Andy Kesten and especially Lee Williams and Sally Hoffecker for heading up the two groups!)

CONSIDER THE
CHORUS ENDOWMENT

If you make year-end contributions to balance taxes due, consider the Chorus Endowment. In our August workshop and in the October talk on Barber, we began to see the earnings in action. There will be more to come! Your contribution, part of the 2001-2002 campaign, will be matched one-to-one!

COUNCIL VOTES FOR CHANGE

At their last meeting, the Houston Symphony Chorus Council unanimously voted to make a change in the chorus handbook, for chorus members to enter the stage with folders in their DOWNSTAGE hands, instead of their upstage hands. The decision was made mainly for safety reasons, so that member are free to grasp the rail with their upstage hands! Thank you Dave Nussman for bringing the matter to the council’s attention.
