WHAT TO WEAR…
For Friday’s rehearsal, please wear your chorus shirt
(or burgundy shirt) – there may be media present.
For Saturday and Sunday concerts, men in tuxes with
black bow ties. Ladies who have chorus dresses, you
will wear those (no collars, no cuffs, no jewelry),
ladies who have UH chorale dresses, you will wear
those, and ladies who have neither, please find a
dress, or blouse and skirt, that has a v-neck and is
long. (We are unable to rent dresses for this
event. We may get our dress order prior to the trip,
but we may not – please have a back-up plan!)

COUNCIL TO MEET
The Chorus Council will meet next Monday, August 12,
at 6:00 p.m., at Noche Cocina (formerly Café Noche)
at 2409 Montrose @ Hyde Park. Their phone number is
713-529-8559. We will be discussing the workshop and
other items of business. Council members, please let
Cheryl know whether or not you can participate.

If you are bringing a guest to Mexico City, a $50
deposit (per person) is due tonight. Please make
checks payable to HSC and give your check to Cheryl.
(You might want to indicate your guest’s name on the
memo line.) Your balance ($360 airfare plus the
hotel fee listed below) must be payed in cash in
Mexico City, Friday morning prior to rehearsals.
ANOTHER CHANGE IN DEPARTURE & RETURN...
Did I tell you how much I appreciate your
flexibility? We are going to start over! If you are
one of the 25 people on the Sunday return list, you
do not have to do the following: Please sign one
departure list and one arrival list, ONE NAME PER
LINE! PLEASE INCLUDE GUEST NAMES! Here are the new
departure times: Thursday, Aug. 22, noon (65 spaces)
or 6:05 p.m. (75 spaces). New return times are
Monday, August 26 (will leave Mexico City @) 8:11
a.m. (60 people) or 2:48 p.m. (80 people). Thank you!
It looks like we will be staying in rooms (at the
Radisson) with two double beds. Are you bringing a
non-chorus buddy? If that person wants a room alone,
the cost is $120 per day. If that person is going to
stay in your room, it will be $60 a day. If your
buddy wants to do a triple occupancy, that will cost
$55 per day. Questions? See Cheryl.
You will need certain documentation to get into
Mexico. A VALID passport is fine, or you can bring a
certified, official copy of your birth certificate,
WITH a photo I.D., such as a valid driver’s license.
UH may be putting together some classes again this
year. They are considering a beginner level sight-
singing class in the fall, and an intermediate level
sight-singing class in the spring. They are also
considering a voice class. If you would be
interested in participating in one of these classes
(last year’s fee was $140), please sign the list in
