Hello all of my Houston Symphony Friends.
Yes, indeed, SUNDAY is our big celebration, following the Wagner matinee concert. We are planning to start about 5:15 (concert-timing dependent), and we anticipate the program to be about 35-45 minutes in length. The duration of the reception will be to 7 or 7:30. There will be memorabilia, a video display, and the Symphony is also putting together something in the display cases they have for such things. Remember, the bar is a CASH bar - i.e. bring your $. They will have the regular assortment, including bottle water and sodas. It is like the movies - no food brought in is permitted
Here's how it works.
The hall will be cleared and set up. You can roam the foyer, congregate in the rehearsal room, visit the "necessary" rooms. AND pick up ticket AND your SOUVENIRS.
***** YOU WILL NEED YOUR TICKET to enter the hall for the program.
There will be a REGISTRATION TABLE by the Louisiana Street entrance. Last minute ticket purchases, pick up of pre-ordered tickets can be picked up there.
If you are not attending or singing the concert, tell the ushers that you are there for the "Chorus Birthday" and you will be allowed to enter. That is a password - remember the phrase. If for some reason you cannot get entrance ask them to get someone form the registration table to you.
If you have your ticket, you STILL need to go to the registration table to pick up your special 60th Anniversary SOUVENIRS.
If you cannot attend, but wish to receive souvenirs and program, purchase/order a ticket and we will put together a packet for you. We'll be sure you get them, although our distribution network has not been figured out. There will be rehearsals for the Europe and Mexico City tours, and I will be able to have them there. The rest we will figure out later, not now
