I've been in London the past week. just getting in to Lagos this evening. But I went by Royal Albert Hall and picked up the Proms schedule. The proms opened this past Friday night with a performance, as is traditional, of the Beethoven's Ninth. I tried to get tickets, but it was sold out. But I had some moments of reminiscing about singing that great concert there. I've got it on my I-pod, I'll have to listen to it tomorrow. There was a fun article in a London paper about the Proms and the long-standing traditions that go along with those concerts and the promenaders who plan out the shouting and signs and activity. Remember right before the concert when they shouted "Houston! We have liftoff!" It was so exciting to be singing there!
